The activities of a Serbian Company, Energo Nigeria Limited have reached about $2 billion, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Nigeria Rifat Rondic has said.
Speaking in Abuja when he visited the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), the Ambassador said the company which has been in existence for 40 years has carried out about 70 projects in Nigeria mostly in the field of power transmission with the biggest in Zungeru Dam.
He said although his country enjoys excellent political relations with Nigeria, his mission is to improve on the economic relationship.
He appealed to the Executive Secretary of NIPC to dispatch a team to visit his country in order to meet with their counterpart organization and to enlighten their investors on business opportunities in Nigeria.
“I’m ready to support the visit and to reciprocate by bringing our investors to Nigeria. We want to participate in the development of Nigeria especially in the field of power which is your priority”, he said.
Speaking, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Engineer Mustafa Bello said there are a lot of challenges of infrastructure which makes the cost of doing business very high in the country.
